LOST: Bear, a male airedale/
standard poodle mix

This dog was lost on Feb. 6th from the Solano/Espina/Utah area. He went missing from his yard. Bear is a bigger dog -- about 70 pounds -- and he is champagne-colored. LOST: Lucy, a black brussels griffon

A small black dog went missing on Feb. 6th from Selden St., near the baseball fields on Hadley. The dog was recently shaved, so she has more hair on her face. Lucy is just visiting Las Cruces with her guardian so is not in familiar territory. She is also skittish with strangers. Boxer rescue URGENTY needs foster homes for many shelter dogs

The local boxer rescue wants to take in a few dogs from our municipal shelter, but they need more foster homes in order to do so. Many dogs await rescue. To be a foster, you have to have a secure yard and bring the dogs to the PetSmart adoptions the group holds; you also have to provide food. The rescue covers any medical care the dogs need. LOST: Buford and Darla,
two English Bulldogs

Two English bulldogs (male and female)got lost together and may be traveling together. They are from the same household, and they are microchipped. Both are about 1 year old, and they were lost on Jan 30th from the Valley/Westland area. They are medium sized, and the female is a bit smaller than the male (40# and 35#). LOST: Saj, a male Akita

This one-year old dog was lost on Jan 29th while out on a walk on the flood control dam behind Target/Home Depot. He was spooked and broke away from his guardian, running toward the north end of the dam in the Northrise vicinity. He was last spotted behind the Motel 6. He was wearing a choke collar but no other collar and tags. He also has a bald spot on his left hip from a recent injury. This poor dog ran off from home because he was scared off by the balloon launch on Jan. 15th. He is a 4-year old male, and he is white with small brown spots and brown ears. A woman facing eviction that does not want to lose her dogs needs someone who can foster or somewhere to keep them safely until she finds a pet-friendly rental. Peyson is 3 years old and weighs about 30 pounds. She strayed from her home off S. Levee Rd. near the Rio Grande in Vado between the night of Jan. 14th and morning of Jan. 15th. A woman driving from Las Cruces to the WSMR post,traveling east,spotteda deceased shepherd in the dirt median between the two sides of the Hwy 70--across the way from the Organ Cafe and supermarket on the west side of the highway. She spotted the dog on Jan. 17th.

FOUND: Emaciated, tan chihuhua

A woman found a tan and white chihuahua--about 4 years old. He is an intact male who is microchipped, and the veterinarian who scanned the dog has called the number linked to the chip. If not claimed, this dog will need a new home and is getting help for medical treatment from the Humane Society of Southern NM. This dog has been missing since Dec. 21st from the Las Brisas Mobile Home Park. He is a 3-year old, salt-and-pepper colored,neutered male. He is very sweet and affectionate, and not only does his human family miss him, but his canine buddy at home has been looking for him ever since. Bono disappeared when someone left his gate open. SPOTTED: Small white terrier on Sonoma Ranch/Sedona Parkway

There was a small white terrier-looking dog running loose at about the corner of Sonoma Ranch and Sedona Parkway on Dec. 31st. There were a couple of cars that stopped, and a lady was trying to get him/her away from Sonoma Ranch, but the dog wouldn't let her get too near. The person who spotted this doesn'tif the woman was trying to actually catch the dog or not or maybe was the dog's guardian, but the dog was wearing acollar and tags. It appeared that they got the dog off of Sonoma Ranch.

LOST: Pickles, a male pug
$1000 Reward!

This dog was lost on Dec. 28th from the Sonoma Ranch area (near Levante Dr.). He is an 11-month old, male, neutered pug, and he is fawn (tan) colored with a black face. He has a fully curled tail, and he has a mole on the side of one of his cheeks. He is lean and athlethic and knows lots of basic commands, and he is very friendly toward people and other animals. Pickles escaped from his yard, and his family misses him terribly and are desperate to find him. FOUND: A male white bulldog, who was taken to the ASCMV shelter

A person horseback riding off Hwy 70, near the dump, found an intact, mostly white American bulldog. The dog followed the person home for about three miles, and he was very well-behaved. The findercalled Animal Control, who took the dog to the shelter that day, Dec. 27th. The dog was white with a few gray spots and a brindle circle on his head. If this dog is yours, contact the shelter immediately at 575-382-0018. They only hold onto dogs with no ID for three days and those with ID for five days before putting them down unless they are chosen to be put up for adoption.

A male, black bulldog mix was lost on Dec. 23rd when family visiting for the holiday let the dog escape. He was lost from the 1800 block of Half Moon Dr., a few blocks south of Las Cruces High School. LOST: Miss Cracker, a black cat

A woman staying at the Best Western Inn in Anthony, TX, on Dec. 14th lost this companion cat in that area. The woman was just passing through our area and didn't notice the cat missing until she was 6 hours away. The cat, Miss Cracker,is a 6-year old female; she is black with caramel eyes and a bobtail. The scared dog we rescued, Wiley,
is lost in El Paso

This young, male jack russel/corgi mix was rescued by APA from the neighborhood near our pet food bank (close to Solano and Spruce). Nobody in the area knew who the dog belonged to, and he was running loose and scared for some time and causing trouble for people in the area. On Dec. 2nd, thanks to the HumaneSociety of El Paso (www.hselpaso.org),we found him a foster home. LOST: Roscoe, a collie/blue heeler mix

A five-year old collie/blue heerler, intact male, was lost on Dec. 7th south of La Union. He does not live in this area. Roscoe lives on Koogle Rd., about half-mile west of Hwy 28. He has short hair; he is black with a white stomach, white chest, and white on his two front legs. Roscoe was not wearing a collar, and he is very friendly. He weighs about 45 pounds. APA needs homes, fosters or safe rescue placement for former-abused dogs

Contact us if you can help rescue one or more of these Pit Bull Terrier mixes who survived abuse and are now eligible to find new homes. One is an adult male, and the other two are adult females (all about 3-4 years old); we are also still trying to find Angie a home, a former abused dog in a foster home in Las Cruces. All are healthy, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and of good temperament. We are able to arrange transport of the dogs out of our area in order to rescue them.

Rescued cat needs new home

Marshall still needs a family

This male boxer/pit bull mix was rescued a few years ago by a woman who rescues cats and birds, so she does not have room in her home for a dog.
